Prevention of Children from Sexual Offence Committee(POCSO)
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Committee, also known as the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), is a school body that protects children from sexual offenses.
The committee works to safeguard the learners' interests and ensure their healthy physical, emotional, and social development. The committee also provides protection from sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography
The POCSO Act was passed by the Parliament of India on May 22, 2012, and came into effect on November 14, 2012. The act calls for increased awareness and synergy among parents, teachers, and schools to ensure compliance with the act.
Anyone who witnesses or suspects child sexual abuse should report it to the school complaints committee.
